im looking at getting one, im happy with a subcompact driver i got from them and was wondering if anyone here had tried the 1/4 impacti like the li ion batts and dont need it to be super powerful. i found a coupon for a 110$ so im tempted, id use it mostly for automotive work, and driving some screwsanyway thoughts?thanksforney f100 220vmiller thunderbolt 225v a/ccampbell hausfield flux welder 115vcraftsman o/a rig(harris)collosal tech plasma cutter 50amp
Reply:I used to do things like I think your trying to, with a 1/4 inch hex to 3/8 adapter to put sockets on.  If your primarily using it for mechanic work there is only one cordless impact to own, the 3/8 snap-on.  the rest work but this one is the best, I've had some different ones and none are like it.  I have an adapter to take it from its square drive down to a hex because once in a while I use it for putting in tap-cons, still works fine for that.   If you are using it for screws mostly then get a hex one.  I have a milwaukee 3/8 but its 99% worn out, was a good unit for the money but not the power of the snappy.  It was the 14.4 volt i think.
Reply:I have the 1/4" quick bit impact...Very nice, also have the 1/2", its great for slamming flanges together.Tip for Milwaukee Li Ion batteries, the small ones can be used on the larger tools if you grind off one of the tabs that slide into the tool. The bigger batts dont have this tab, so they fit all tools.More than once I needed my sawzall in a spot that did not permit the bigger battery.Sold all my 24v Ridgid tools and bought Milwaukee, no reason other than size. The Milwaukee are smaller and have the same pop.(2) 1/4" impacts(1) 1/2" Impact(2) sawzalls(2) hammerdrill/driversthe radio and 10 batteries all together...Lincoln Power MIG 210 MP ( boat anchor )Lincoln Weld-Pac 100 HDHobart IronMan 230Cutmaster 42Jackson NexGenSumner Ultra ClampsDWM120
Reply:i love the 18 v milwaukee 1/4 hex impact driver i picked up this year, but my favorite tool for mechanicing is still my 14.4v snapon 1/2 square drive impact gun. 400 or so ftlb of torque.Dynasty 200DXPassport plus w/ spoolmate 100victor 315c oxy/(act and prop)Miller digital elitemilwaukee power tools
Reply:Much love for 28V Milwaukee tools. The Sawzall, angle grinder (with guard modded to take 6" cutting discs) and impact have gone with me on many junkyard salvage runs.
Reply:check out toolbarn.com thats where i get my milwaukee and makita tools
Reply:I have the milwaukee 18 volt lit ion for about 2 years now and I like them I have the full combo kit. The only bad thing is if it really cold it will be tempermetal till it warms up. I have had no issue with it and have probably driven about 15000 metal pan head screws with the impact and half inch drill. I can drive about 140 to 160 screws before having to recharge the battery.Vantage 300 kubota ,miller 304 xmt ,lincoln ln 25 pro , ranger 305 G, plenty of other tools of the trade to make the sparks fly.
