I need it for an ongoing project, and one of the credit cards had to be used to keep it active. Got the stupid thing from my LWS, at slightly over internet price, and got the bonus deal to boot.  Despite better price offers on the net I have NEVER purchased a machine sight unseen.  And I have local support when needed when I purchase locally.Yours truly is now the proud () owner of the Cutmaster 52 Considered the little 39, but besides being underpowered, it would have necessitated spending about 100 clams on circuit protection.  I have a 50amp circuit for the welder, and would have to set up a breaker box for 20amp protection.  So the step up actually was only a bit more considering the savings on electrical stuff.Can't believe I did this The mfr. is throwing in a small inverter welder with the purchase of the Cutmaster 52 and 82? .  http://www.weldingsuppliesfromioc.co...STER-52/Detail  The link is for those balancing on the edge of a decision, and the program is available from your local LWS if you ask.  Lincoln is also running a special on one of the Rangers (the 225 I believe).  They're throwing in a 140amp MIG  welder with the purchase.So much for the recovering economy I guessI suppose the little stick welder could come in handy sometime Attached Images"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:WHOA!!!!  Samm with a plasma cutter!  There'll be no stopping him now - windows and skylights in the container shop and who knows what. Well don't retire the O/A torch just yet 'cause it's kinda hard to do those heat jobs with a plasma cutter. I have no doubt you'll love it.  I know you don't work with it a lot but it makes cutting aluminum and SS a whole lot easier too. Reply:Ummm, Samm, you -usually- can use a '20 amp device' just fine on a 50 amp circuit.  But you can just tell yourself that you HAD to buy the 52 instead of the 39, just so you wouldn't have to rewire anything.  But yeah, plasma can be quite handy to cut things.    The best laid schemes ... Reply:Hey samm,Great choice. I really like mine & the 2nd day, after making a cart & hooking up the air filter, I decided to put it thru its' paces. I decided to give it a workout to insure if any problems did arise, I could get it remedied/replaced & not lose any work with needed materials cut for jobs. I cut (4) 4' x 8' sheets of 1/8" alum, (6) 4' X 8' sheets of 16ga steel. Not a hiccup. Fast & clean at 40A & the tiny edge dross just fell off with a light tap. Then I cut some 1/4" plate at 50A.....same....nice & clean.I did get mine online & it arrived with not a scratch on the box & it was packed extremely well.
