oxyacetylene welding

I was using my welder (OXY) and the handles of my torch got hot  anybody know why and what's going on? Thank You!

Reply:What brand of torch ? What were you doing ? Cutting or welding ? If it's a Victor WELDING tip make sure the tip is tight in the brass nipple. Pretty common with the crappy threading on the cheaper aftermarket tips.If you're cutting with LP you have your flame all wrong.. See why I shorted you.BTW my brakes are squeaking.
