I built this over the last couple weekends, although I've been accumulating the parts since last year!Zapster machined the pieces in the first couple of pictures for me, the bends & flanges were purchased from Columbia River, and the collector & muffler components were purchased from Cone Engineering. Total cost was about $350 in materials, and my time isn't worth much....    All the tubing is 1.75" 16 gauge stainless, the lap joints are where I doubled up the tubing as a heat shield.I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, I don't TIG often at all so I'm "permanently rusty"... By the time I started getting the hang of it, the project was all done! But that said, I managed to make the welds look decent for the most part, so I won as far as I'm concerned. I might try to take more detailed pictures later, I'll be taking it off again sometime to add an O2 bung for the Autotune module. Sounds nasty though, and I'm liking the "burned" golden color it's picking up.  Attached ImagesGive me fuel, give me fire, give me that which I desire.

Reply:It appears if you are not in a rush Columbia River will have pieces allot cheaper from time to time from their surplus. Reply:Came out awesome!!
Reply:Good job! If it were mine, I would grain all the stainless back for a uniform finish and would help keep the joints from rusting later on.
Reply:dont want to derail OP thread, but what do you mean by "grain"GeezerPower Mig 255C185 TIGBlue 175 MIGRanger 8 Kohler 20HP1974 5K Lincoln/Wisconsin Powered (Cherry)Victor/Harris O/AK 487 Spool Gun
Reply:Grain is the graining of the stainless in a finish. I do it with different grit sandpaper and scotchbrite products from hand held to machine. It brings the common finish on stainless that most people think of. It removes the surface inpureities and coloring along with the carbon that has came to the surface during welding. The easiest way to remove most of the coloring is to wire brush the weld right after you have finished it and allowed it to cool for about 30 secs. Just my method  I really like the lines you made on the pipes!
