I have some Q's, hope you guys can help me out...I went today to the welding shop and get the adaptor for my regulator kit, which my MIG included.Now...I´m on a dilemma.... (I don´t know the name of the parts so I´ll just call them as what they look like)...Regulator included a "bolt" adaptor which at the end has a spherical/conical end (you´ll see it on the pic, same as used in Oxygen tanks)...and a male nut at the end...Just like an Oxygen regulator...What they gave me for fitting into the CO2 was another bolt like but it ends flat. It has an octagon shape...and a female nut. Trouble: The bolt adaptor the regulator came wich is Fine thread...and a little bigger than the one I bought.... (on the nut it reads "Argon-Helium-Nitrogen- CGA 580")....Since the nut is male it won´t work in the tank (tank is male). Now, the parts I bought are CGA 320 and hole on the nut is a little smaller. Situation: Welding shops are closed by now...and I want to try this now...Could I just use the standard spherical/cone bolt and use the other nut (CGA 320) just making the hole a little bigger? Is it really neccesary to have the flat end? You could see in the pics what I meant...I´m really in the need to test my MIG now...But I sure want it to be safe...cause tank will be on my little room...PIC #1 shows the regulator...here you can see where the 580 Fine thread bolt should be inserted... Reply:this is the "spherical/conical" bolt...and the male nut the standard Lincoln kit includes (CGA 580) Attached ImagesMy Babies: HF Drill pressHF Pipe Bender3   4.5" Black and Decker angle grindersLincoln Electric PROMIG 175that´s it!
Reply:This is what I need to adapt to the tank I have... CGA 320...Bolt is a little smaller than the one Lincoln gave me... and nut is female type...As you can see it end flat and has an octagon shape.. Reply:the 2 type of bolts...What I plan to do is use the spherical/conical that adapts to the regulator and use the other nut just making the hole a little more big. However only issue I can imagine is that CGA 320 ends flat and the other ends in the mushroom type end. Reply:Last one...the 2 kits...however CGA 320 fits the tank but not the regulator...and CGA 580 the other way...Anybody?? Attached ImagesMy Babies: HF Drill pressHF Pipe Bender3   4.5" Black and Decker angle grindersLincoln Electric PROMIG 175that´s it!
