I was given an old Lincoln AC-225-S, but all of the cables need to be replaced, as well as the power cord. Does anyone know where I can get these parts? Is it an easy job to replace them?
Reply:If you've got a Tractor Supply Store (TSC) in your area, they've got a nice little section with all of those piece/parts right there. Cables, crimp fittings, clamps, electrode holder and all.
Reply:i went to lowes after pulling one perfectly good ac-225 outta the trash that had no cables sticking out.spent 50 bucks got the work clamp, electrode holder.went to the electrical dept. and asked for some help i got 2 peices of wire its about 1/2 inch diamater rated to 350 amps.and a plug.so now i have an ac-225 with 24 foot leads and a 8 foot plug.and the leads dont even get warm when i use it full blast for a while.KISS...KEEP IT SAFE STUPID
Reply:Thanks for the replies. Is accessing the cables as simple as removing the sheet metal screws along the perimeter of the unit and pulling the cover off?
Reply:I figured it out, it's very simple. Once you get the back panels off, everything is right there. It's just a matter of loosening a couple of nuts and hooking up the new cables. |
