I was checking to see if anyone has had any good results getting slug cutters resharpened. I have a evolution mag drill and some of the cutters are getting dull, didnt know if it was worth sending and having sharpened or just replace? Thanks
Reply:Hello swamprat, if you have a Fastenal in your area they can either sharpen them at their facility or send them out to be sharpened for you at one of their service centers. I do believe you will appreciate the sharpening services and what they will do for your dull cutters. Good luck and best regards, Allanaevald
Reply:Have had some resharpened and they were like new again. Even replaced a broken carbide. If I remember right it cost about 1/4-1/3 of the price of new...well worth it to me.
Reply:Absolutely worth resharpening. Give good cause to having multiple in each size. We use roto-broach cutters and at upwards of a hundred bucks and beyond per cutter vs having a bucket bucket full sharpened for under a hundred bucks - its no question.
Reply:Thanks for the responses , i will be at Fastenal in a couple days for some plow bolts - so i will check with them. Thanks |
