Reply:You may not even have to drain the oil. If you tip it and it leaks, drain it, otherwise just leave it in. An engine hoist may be used to lift/tip the compressor.
Reply:When I bought my 60 Gal. From Home Depot I laid it on it's side in my van It had no oil in it. Nothing else on it to hurt  Unless it rolls out of your truck. Just chalk it up so it does not roll on the plumbing and controls. Tony
Reply:When I bought my 2 stage 80 gallon, I took the motor off, took the pump off, and put them all into a Subaru Legacy wagon.  I had to measure first, but yeah, it all fit.In three pieces, it was pretty easy to lift and move around, and I was able to keep the pump vertical, without draining it.  That also made it easier to hoist up into my garage loft where it now lives.Free from oil, you can turn it on its side, but if you miss some oil, and a bunch gets sent through a valve when you flip the switch, it can do a some damage. If you drain it thoroughly (let it sit for a bit after running, before you even bother to drain it), and hand spin the pump a bit after righting it, I suppose that should be safe.  Still, an 80 gallon compressor is a beast to move in one piece (mine is around 540lbs), and if it slides around in the back, the weight of the tank can break things if the head hits stuff.
Reply:if it has oil in it be safe and drain, save and reinstall when up right other than that it will be safe to lay downidealarc 250/250 ac-dc tigidealarc 250/250 ac-dc tig #2 used for sticklincoln sp100hh125dual arbor grinder polisher30 yrs of hand tools52 pitch blocks 6p-26prake gauge -pitch gaugeG&D prop repair 918-207-6938Hulbert,okla 74441
Reply:Drain it and discard the oil.  Replace with fresh oil and you will know when the next service is due.  New home, fresh oil change.RogerOld, Tired, and GRUMPYSalesman will call, Batteries not included, Assembly is required, and FREE ADVICE IS WORTH EXACTLY WHAT YOU PAY FOR IT!Dial Arc 250HFThunderbolt 225 AC/DCAssorted A/O torches
