I'm running low on 8018 rod and have always used "Hoballoy" 8018C3 and am wondering where to purchase more? The welding supply store formerly patronized is defunct so looking for a new supplier of the product or a suitable replacement if NLA.Thanks,SlobPurveyor of intimate unparalleled knowledge of nothing about everything.Oh yeah, also an unabashed internet "Troll" too.....
Reply:Lincoln has it along with others I'm sure, but I get mine from Lincoln
Reply:Thanks, I've never ran anything else so will give it a try if no Hobart product is located.SlobPurveyor of intimate unparalleled knowledge of nothing about everything.Oh yeah, also an unabashed internet "Troll" too.....
Reply:McKay also offers a good selection of low alloy electrodes.

Reply:I believe the company who bought Miller owns them. My LWS carries some of their stuff. McKay makes a lot of hardface electrodes.
Reply:I'm working in OKC this week so I'll check a couple stores here as I know it's not around home town on shelves. Thanks,SlobPurveyor of intimate unparalleled knowledge of nothing about everything.Oh yeah, also an unabashed internet "Troll" too.....
Reply:Got to delving into the Hobart Brothers website and the rod is still a supplied item. I looked for a "where to buy" location and a welding supply store about 25 miles from home carries their products but it may be an order item for them? I'll look into it and thanks to all for the guidance.SlobPurveyor of intimate unparalleled knowledge of nothing about everything.Oh yeah, also an unabashed internet "Troll" too.....
Reply:Was able to get two 50# tins on order and awaiting my pickup when I return to the area. I did find where Lincoln and McKay still market the same product but I'm comfortable with the Hobart line of filler so elected to stay with it. Seemingly nice people on the phone so may patronize them often after I see their store and performance with customers. This is a great rod for repairing dump truck floors and truck frames up to the 80KSI rating with an easy to control puddle and excellent tie in and wetout.
