Can your OXY / Fuel regulators be Safely mounted in remote location such as a cabinet if so does any company offer regulators for this type of configuration
Reply:You can manifold cylinders and use one regulator to control the flow from the whole system. Often this system is set in a remote location and then low pressure gas is piped to where it's needed. Down side is that you need to use high pressure tubing and components up stream of the regs and these can quickly get expensive. I've seen this system used in schools or shops on occasion but for small use it's often not really practical due to costs..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:You don't need other than normal "regulators" or, gauges for this. What you do need are very special high pressure hoses to run from the cylinder to the remote mounted gauge. They are available from the large welding suppliers.Kiewit (for one) is a large worldwide contractor that runs remote mounted gauges on their (tens of thousands of) service trucks. The hoses are made for that particular application, and are braided metal exterior. Just make a simple wall mount (usually in a box or cabinet) that will secure the standard guage. And get the hose to the proper length. I've seen a ton of them over the years. You can run safety caps on the cylinders with them. All is DOT happy then. It's a simple project.JT

Reply:Just keep in mind that the hose has to contain the ultimate pressure of the cylinder. Praxair (used to, probably still does) sells appropriate hoses. Do a search, they are available.J
Reply:Fittings and hoses for HP O2 also have to be O2 clean as well..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
