Hello, maybe somebody can help answer this.I know the difference between MIG gas flow and pressure, but I have observed that different regulators have different (secondary or line) pressures. I know that I probably can get 25 CFH with the proper adjustment on either 10 psi or 80 psi .The difference is the first "puff" of gas.If my regulator is adjustable, what should the pressure be?Should that pressure be static or dynamic ? Mine was at 60 psi static, which seems too high to me.Thanks for any help.
Reply:Tig static pressure is 25 to 35 psi, then drops to about 3 psi nonstatic or flow pressure. Mig static pressure is 50 to 80 psi to deal with long hose lines, restrictions, and higher flow. Non static pressure during flow can be as high as 10 psi. Google "choke flow" for more information. Or go to Netwelding.com for a complete rundown. Jerry Uttrachi is the flow god. Reply:Spam, spam spam spam, spamity spaaaaaam, oh wonderful spam.Go sell your gas saver somewhere else. Don't come on here with a fake question, then all the sudden know the answer, and also just happen to sell the cure.
Reply:I seriously doubt it's spam. Original post was a fair bit back. Terry even listed the link in his post at the time. He's not one to push products. Jerry gives a decent explanation for the whys behind the issue, not just "go buy my stuff" and there's no link in his post, just the site.I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, but keep an eye on this..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
