Just a little box to haul hunting dogs around in. 38" x 38" x 22" made from 1" square and 16g diamond plate. I got to use my homemade brake on this one, and used a towel to keep from scratching the plate.

Reply:Better chain that tank next to the tool box!
Reply:Nice work!!!!One fellow above mentioned chaining a bottle....we chain all our bottles and also use the yellow safety caps on bottles where we have gauges attached. I had one of the kid tip over a bottle years ago.....REALLY put a scare....maybe one of my past lives I had a bottle accident......hmmmm a baby bottle???? Reply:g-man:Note: I'm trying to figure out the material and gauge for my next project. I'm thinking of using aluminum diamond plate. Not sure of what material (3003-H22 or 6061-T6). Do you know what material you used? You mentioned using 16 gauge.16 gauge = 1/16" thickness. Obviously that saves on money, but is it thick enough for the application? If you do a simple push on the center of panels, does it 'oilcan' easily? If a dog jumped on top of the kennel, would he 'sag' the metal there?I was thinking I was stuck using 1/8th of an inch.. but your project gives me hope (and a cost savings..) If you had to do the project over again, would you still use the 1/16" material? Note: from my research, it looks like the guys that make the aluminum diamond plate tool boxes for pick'em up trucks mostly use 1/8" material thickness. Many thanks, Zip.Last edited by zipzit; 04-21-2014 at 01:36 AM.
