I'm making an electrode lead myself with some 4 gauge wire for my Power Mig. I'm wondering if it matters that the electrode holder lead is 15' and the work lead is 10'? I saw somewhere the some machines are finnicky if the leads aren't the same length but wasn't sure if it applied to all machines.Am I overthinking it?Lincoln PowerMIG 350mpEverlast PowerTIG 210EXT Hypertherm PowerMax45You merely adopted the iron, I was born in it, molded by it.
Reply:Shouldn't be a problem, used many different machines with all kinds of combinations of lead and no problems.

Reply:I’ve read where different lengths of leads mess up the arc force. I have two welders with arc force, and I use a 30-feet long whip, and a 15-feet long ground lead. I can’t tell one bit of difference in the arc force.Don’t pay any attention to meI’m just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400
