Question about stick welding leads

I'm making an electrode lead myself with some 4 gauge wire for my Power Mig. I'm wondering if it matters that the electrode holder lead is 15' and the work lead is 10'? Reply:Shouldn't be a problem, used many different machines with all kinds of combinations of lead and no problems.

Reply:I’ve read where different lengths of leads mess up the arc force. I have two welders with arc force, and I use a 30-feet long whip, and a 15-feet long ground lead.
