Hello everyone. I love welding and I have an admittedly weird fascination and huge collection of 2x4 welding filters I love and appreciate the craftsmanship and clarity of old vintage glass lenses and I feel like Im keeping a piece of welding history alive ( by hoarding them in a cardboard box!) out of my whole collection the Omni View, Cesco Weld and AO Filterweld are my favorite... Well I will stop rambling and get on to the question: whats the big deal with the Lincoln Super/High visibility? Is it all hype? They go for like 80 bucks on ebay and I really want one for my collection (lol) what color is the arc and puddle? Is the optical clarity true to its name?? Thanks so much!!Last edited by Lunchbox148; 08-02-2015 at 04:35 PM.
Reply:I really cannot compare mine to other high dollar, sought after passive lenses (haven't used any) but I have no issues seeing much of anything with it. My SV has an orange tint to it, nothing at all on the outside of the lens besides a 10 for shade number. Other ones I have seen and owned say Super Visibility on them. This one is very old.I've used several high dollar electric helmets and I'll never go back to one. I guess it's worth whatever you're willing to pay for one. I've seen the AO Weld Cool lenses fetching $400 bucks on eBay and there's no way in hell I would spend that kind of money on a piece of glass.Wish I could add more. I really like the way it works for me anyways.Expert Garage Hack....https://www.facebook.com/steven.webber.948 |
