I was in a discussion early. When running roots on v groove pipe. Do you prefer to cram the rod and drag it up. Or whip it? Explain please. Thanks guysUsing Tapatalk
Reply:True pipelining is run down hill eith a tight gap and light land. I drag with light pressure. If I have to push, I turn it up. Reply:When I was taught it was basically one trick, 1/16" gap and land, 6010 downhill, light it up and jamb it in the root groove. Once you were started you could read a book until the rod was gone. Lather, rinse, repeat as needed until both sides were done. Hot pass was a little different, and required watching. Cap was either 6010 downhill, or 7018 up.
Reply:For me, vertical up I whip... you can just drag though... Vertical down, drag.
Reply:Pipeline roots are downhill only pressure you need is the weight of the stinger and lead if you gotta push your too cold or too tight, if you gotta whip your too hot/wide if you gotta go uphill you either got too much space or too much high low
Reply:Downhand slight pressure, except for the instant @ start up could do it with no hood.Last edited by Old Skool; 03-18-2014 at 12:33 PM. |
