I am going to get a new welder. I am looking at the Lincoln Pro Mig 140 and the Hobart Handler 140. Which is best? Which is best warranty? ThanksWhitey
Reply:Hobart has a better Warranty and better customer service.-Clarke 130EN-Miller MaxStar 150STL-Miller Elite 29' Roadster
Reply:I looked at 'um both and bought the Hobart. It rocks! Go Hobart... That aint heat lightning in the neighborhood tonight...
Reply:Hobart!
Reply:Lincoln has a 3 year warranty and you can get 2 more years. The arc is better and the machine is built heavier, just open the cases and you'll see.
Reply:Hobart has a five-year warranty on the xformer, three-year on the rest (not the gun.)Lincoln built heavier in the drive compartment? Maybe. Heavier overall means nothing. Hobarts do not have a reputation of breaking, though, so it's moot.I would consider both machines top of the line, and would save my money with the Hobart, plus have better customer service after the sale, to boot. It's been a LONG time since I used a 120V Lincoln. It worked well, but I couldn't tell you if it had a better arc than the excellent arc on the HH140. Moot again, I say.Dan could be more detailed and from more recent experience, though.
Reply:I could've mail-ordered the Hobart, or bought the Pro-mig locally.Local won out. Got it NOW with no shipping charges. A real human to complain to in case of warranty issues. And specs/price were about the same. I'm not a pro but this seemed like a good choice for me.Azlar
Reply:What is the sales tax in AZ? I've saved money buying on line wothout sales tax, even with shipping costs. Some companies offer free shipping. |
