recently, I got my WP100 switched from flux-core to MIG. I've welded about 1/2 spool of .025 wire and everything went great. Now, the wire won't feed, I mean it will but not smoothly. If I loosen the plastic knod the wire jumps off the spool...tighten it, it won't spin. The wing-nut tensioner doesn't help. What am I missing?Lincoln Weld-Pak 100 HD

Reply:First I would check the liner. If it gets kinked or bent, it will cause all kinds of problems. I ASSume you have changed the contact tip. With My sp100, I had to put a piece of a pencil in the hole the tension screw goes in to make it so the screw doesn't self tighten. Worked for me many years ago and I still use it.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:I think the pencil idea might work, and yes, I did change the tip. Thanks!Lincoln Weld-Pak 100 HD
