questions on used equipment

i was just wanting to know the best place to look for used shop equipment or welders. I am interested in getting a used chop saw but dont know were to start looking locally. Also i eventually want to get an engine driven welder such has a miller bobcat or something similar but dont want to pay the price for a new one. Reply:I often check places like Ebay...there are still some good deals on there despite of all the crap that it has now. Reply:I would check the LWS in your area as well.  The airgas stores in my area carry used equipment some and seem to sell at a decent price.Craigslist is also good.  I picked up a used Miller AEAD 200 LE welder generator for a really good price.  I had to drive a bit to get it, but I live smack dab in the middle of nowhere.Also check the classifieds in the paper and all the auctions you can find.  It seems alot of fab shops going out of business lately.Ebay is decent, but it never fails everything I want is 2000 miles away and shipping on something 500 lbs will definitely kill the bargain.Maybe even talk to the local shops and welders, they upgrade every so often and might just make you a deal.Thanks,JasonMillermatic 210 w/ SpoolgunMiller 375 ExtremeMiller Trailblazer 250GMiller AEAD 200-LEVictor Journeyman O/A
Reply:craigslist.org is a great place to find welding equipment.ebay.com is nice as well, but you can't always check out the equipment and use it first because if you change your mind you can get bad feedback and nobody will want to do business with you after that.I periodically check with my local welding supplier as they have used equipment for sale all the time.  Here is an example:  http://www.centralwelding.com/used-equipment.htmYou may want to check with your local supplier and ask if they have a website that they update with equipment, if not then get the sales manager's number and call him once in a while and see what they have.

Reply:If you want to search multiple areas of craigslist try crazedlist.orgFor example, you can search the entire US or just CA or just a few local cities. Reply:craig look also expands your search area.thermal arc mst400, va4000 feeder, lincoln 175 min, victor torches, miller s32p feeder, air arc k4000 for work.

Reply:Crazedlist rocks. If you set up your areas and select a search term, for example "welder", then search, then bookmark that search, you can open the bookmark and hit that category daily.
