can you hook a wire feeder up to a sa 200 and mig weld? To me it would seem a bottle of gas and a cv wirefeeder would work am I wrong.
Reply:It will work if the feeder has a VV switch. It will work far better if you get the box that makes the SA into a CV power supply. They aint cheap. The bigger the stuff you weld, the better it will work.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:You have to have a voltage sensing wire feeder in order to do that. Mine is Miller S32P, but a Lincoln LN25 or Miller 8VS or 12VS will also work. The Sa 200 has no CV capabilities.

Reply:A SA-200 and a LN-25 with a 10' 400 amp mig gun will weld aluminum quite well. Only probs will be bending the gun cable will slow the wire down. And the starts are not perfect, otherwise the arc is about perfect, better than my trailblazer in cv mode. The trick to adjusting the welder is turning the fine current down to around 25 and the coarse range to 4th or 5th gear (I cant remember which)
