I'm having issue's with my recently purchased v300 pro. I used it once with no problem. This last time I used it was acting weird. When you first flip the breaker to turn it on the amp display works as it should then after a few seconds something clicks and it goes to zero. Then goes back and forth the amperage doesnt show the way it should. The weld output seems to go up and down. Any suggestions on what the problem may be, where to look?
Reply:When i flip the output terminal switch to remote the readout and dial work correctly.
Reply:There are to many vairables to answer your question,  fill us in on more facts.  JohnSMAW,GMAW,FCAW,GTAW,SAW,PAC/PAW/OFCand Shielding Gases.  There all here. :

Reply:Do you have a remote to plug into it?  could be just the potentiometer.DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:could be something wrong with the on/remote switch.  Do you have a foot pedal?  If not, Id pick one up, put it back on remote and see if it works ok.  Then just allways use your pedal for current control.Various GrindersVictor Journeyman torch200cf Acet. 250cf oxygenLincoln 175 plus/alpha2 gunLincoln v205t tigLincoln 350mpEsab 650 plasmaWhen you can get up in the morning, Its a good day.Live each day like its your last.
Reply:There are no remotes hooked up. The remote output switch is the switch im flipping.
Reply:I've been helping a friend with a class he's teaching and one of their V300 machines has an amp meter freaking out. In this case it's just the meter, it'll weld fine, just tune the weld in by sight and sound till a new read-out comes in.Anything worth doing is worth doing RIGHT
Reply:I'm not that familiar with the V300, but it looks to me like it may be detecting a bit of current flow from the weld output terminals.  Lincoln machines will usually display a preset value, then when a current draw is detected, will switch to displaying actual volts or amps.  This may explain why the display seems correct when placed in remote mode, the terminals are probably turned off in remote mode so no current can flow.Have you disconnected your cables?  you may get some small current draw through poor cable insulation.  The machine may have a bad bypass assembly or board.Lincoln customer service may be able to help.  check their web site and give them a call.Good luck,Bob
Reply:I had one cable disconnected from the machine.
