I've been looking at a SA-200, by serial number a 1976.The seller says it is a fussy starter and blames it on the magneto. He holds the throttle body slower and states it starts at high idle otherwise (which seems normal to me). It did start right up, but did not idle down. It lays a nice bead with 5/32 5P+ and 5/32 7018, but again after a pause it does not idle down. He monkeyed with the throttle body on the carb again and slowed it down. Then when I struck an arc, it immediately sped up to what sounded like an appropriate 1500 rpm. It again failed to slow down. As I understand it, the idler might be working correctly and there is a throttle adjustment problem?Cosmetically it is rough, and the adjustment knobs are extremely stiff. It did seem to put out appropriate current in 3rd and 4th gear. I'm looking at some repairs I know, any thoughts on these problems? ~4400 hours on the hobbs.Bob seND
