I am not a newbe to welding, but I would like to know the differences between the different SA 200 machines (red face, black face, short hood,etc.).I learned how to weld @ age 8 in 1974 using what I now know is a red face sa 200(of which is still burning rod).I just had an early sa200 given to me ,(will pick it up this weekend),pictures look like a short hood, bellows type actuator, guessing pre 57 model.been setting 20+years ,hope to get lucky and am able to repair and use.Price was "come and get this stuff out of here".Guess I really can`t lose ,even if I have to fix it up.Any info would help. thanks Don1979 LINCOLN SA-200 (FOR SALE)1954 LINCOLN SA-200MILLERMATIC 200LINCOLN 250 TIGLONGEVITY 60 IPREMIER POWER WELDER ON 4X4BRONCOVICTOR WRENCH
Reply:See 'Oldies' thread 12-14-07. Did you ask if he had two at that price? You probably mean the metal bellows idler. They never worked well. A quick fix is to get an R57 idler, mount the actuator arm upside down, and the whole thing works great. Of course you can always upgrade to one of the new electric idlers. weldersales
Reply:Thanks WELDERSALES ,read the oldies thread, but still curious about the differences between the different models though(operation/mechanical/settings/adjusting weld perameters etc.) Thanks Don1979 LINCOLN SA-200 (FOR SALE)1954 LINCOLN SA-200MILLERMATIC 200LINCOLN 250 TIGLONGEVITY 60 IPREMIER POWER WELDER ON 4X4BRONCOVICTOR WRENCH
Reply:Here are a few pics of my "come and get it " welder.I haven`t had a chance to check it out yet ,but I can turn the engine with the fan and the air cleaner is missing, otherwise it appears to be all there. The owner said it had a radiator leak ,they pulled the radiator and thats where it sits.I got the original rad. also.
