I have spent a bunch of time searching for threads on building underbody toolboxes and can't find anything. Anyone know of any good threads? Thanks
Reply:Build a box, cut fender, bolt box into hole, rinse, repeat.Buy American, or don't whine when you end up on the bread line.
Reply:Hardest part to do well is the door seal. I've seen a few utility boxes made here from some members. Some built the doors from scratch, others bought premade doors and made the box fit the doors.I've seen side mount boxes and utility bodies going for cheap on CL in the past. If I couldn't find an actual box to simply buy used and install, I'd look at picking up something I could repurpose the doors for vs building the whole thing from scratch..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:I'm convinced that the best door design is the internal gutter design. The only time I get water in my boxes is when the doors are left open and it rains. I've not got any weather stripping either. Reply:Irish I like that bed and the way you got everything set up . That's a very useable bed. Noticed the stake pockets too. Great job.
Reply:Thanks. There's just not enough room for me to fit everything I want. Millermatic 252XMT 304'sDynasty 280DXHypertherm PowerMax 1250Miller Trailblazer 302 EFIOptima PulserXR feeder and XR Edge gun and more athttp://members.dslextreme.com/users/waynecook/index.htm |
