I always wanted to have a rockwell blade runner in my shop but the price here in the Philippines is way to high and it's out of my budget..I have a bosch jigsaw so all I have to do is fabricate a table for it..I'll be using a 3mm stainless steel sheet for the table top..Fabricating a dedicated shoe for my jigsaw..

Reply:1x1 square tube for the frame..
Reply:The blade can be adjusted to 45 degree angle for miter cut..
Reply:I made a guide also for straight accurate cut..
Reply:The fence is from 2x2 angle iron and the knob is for tightening the fence so it won't budge when making straight cut..Fixtures for blade guide..Been too lazy to find a bearing for the blade guide,I used a motorcycle piston pin instead..

Reply:The blade guide is fully adjustable..
Reply:Here it is..I made some adjustment, the fence is touching the guide I have to cut a little portion of the fence..Now it's cleared..
Reply:Some test cuts in 3/4 thick MDF board..
Reply:Very nice, you really put a lot of thought into it and executed it well!
Reply:In thin sheet..

Reply:That's awesome. I really like the overarm bearing support and how you made the base at an angle instead of just putting four uprights.TOO MANY TOOLS & NO MORE SPACE
Reply:That looks great I say you got all the bases covered with your construction. I bet it will be copied many times. That may be a way for you to make some coins by making and selling them.Salamat PoeDIY CNC Plasma table USB BOB Price THCHypertherm 65Everlast PowerTig 255 EXTMiler 180 Mig13" metal latheMill/ DrillECT, ECT,
Reply:Wow...this is going in the tool wishlist. I'm terrified of table saws for the most part but this seems a bit easier to manage. I don't work on much large stuff either, so this is perfect! VERY nice construction as well. Definitely going to be used for inspiration.
Reply:Very cool. Excellent job. Dan
Reply:fairy fancy, looks to me it would out do the blade runner, I would most likely would just bolted the jig saw to a piece of plywood or a cabinet sink cut out that had been squared up, but I also have other tools a good table saw, and band saw,

Reply:It is just amazing... One of the cleanest builds around here. Thin stock, delicate machining of some pieces and ingenuity at its bests! Great job.Mikel
Reply:Thanks for the compliments!
Reply:That is awesome and very creative.Great workWhat model Bosch is that? How do you like?I've got that same Bosch jigsaw. When I first started reading, I said to myself "nice idea, but the blade is too flexible for him to get a precise cut no matter how he hangs it…" Wow, you already had a solution to that problem I had to smile when I saw it. That's a lot of work to make a jigsaw do that, but the end product sure looks like it would be useful. Great job!
Reply:What is the benefit of using a mini table saw like this over just using the jig saw the standard way? It's nice but I dont' understand the practicality of it. |
