Rented a T180 to get some grading done on mine and 2 neighbors lots. Got one done last  night.About 1/4 the way done with mine and the damn thing threw a track. Ive never screwed around with these. Is there a trick to getting a track back on?
Reply:Get rental company to come fix it.    Is a downside to rubber tracks.   Sent from my SCH-I545 using TapatalkTiger Sales:  AHP Distributor    www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P,  Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma.  For Sale:  Cobra Mig 250 w/ Push-pull gun.  Lincoln Wirematic 250
Reply:Maybe send '' killdozerd11'' a PM.  He's a equipment operator and have some insight. Did you try goggle ?  Would this help ?http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=...tall&FORM=VDRE
Reply:Should be a tensioning threaded rod / bolt at one end of the side frame or the other. Back it off, bar the track back up onto the rollers, tighten the tensioning rod / bolt. Good to go!I was walking one of these across a city street one time, operator cut real hard and walked out of one of the tracks. Try explaining to a city cop how long it's going to take to get the track back on!  Attached ImagesDon’t pay any attention to meI’m just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400

Reply:Those things usually use a cylinder of pressurized grease to tension the track.  If you have a jack, some good blocking, a 5' bar, a grease gun and a ****load of rags, it can be done.   But that's not your problem, as the rental company should send someone out, even on the weekend!
Reply:I've replaced a few tracks on a CAT bobcatThe front wheel has to come off the spindle...hook a come along to the bucket and I used a short cable to go around the track....pull snug then install track and wheel at the same time.I'll pm you my number call If you want.I just googled this type of bobcat ...not sure I could've helped ...good thing help is on the wayLast edited by IamVince; 04-05-2014 at 11:08 AM.

Reply:Same thing happened to a buddy he threw a track on a Friday night on a rental they're easy to put back on all you need is a crescent wrench and a grease gun takes about 5min he got a extra day rental out of it due squeeze them for it you'll get another day for free maybe. Ps and if you've never messed with a track adjuster befor please leave them alone small machines arnt to bad but the stored energy in those can launch those little grease valve at bullet speeds I've heard of a operator being serousely hurt from one lodge ing into his neckLast edited by abec; 04-05-2014 at 11:33 AM.
Reply:Like the others have said, might be tightened with a grease gun. Turn the grease valve counter clockwise to loosen it and grease should push out. You might need to push the wheel to get some more space. Get a few pieces of pipe (about 1.5"- depends on the machine). Make sure the track is on the gear and that it will roll. Put the pipe between the teeth on the track and let it pinch between the wheel and track. Roll the track a little and put another piece of pipe into it. With the pipe in there it will walk the track back into place under its own power. After that just use a grease gun to tighten the track. Reply:I had a track run off of a cat d5 while plowing a fire in the woods... Way in the woods. Luckily there was anathor crawler close by and I let the grease out and with the help of a chain and finess from the other crawler it went back on but not an easy task!Miller trailblazer301gLincoln sa200Miller251Miller spectrum 625Victor oxy-acc2002 Chevy duramax 3500 dually 4x4
Reply:We've gone so far as to bill the rental companies for lost time when something fails like that, especially if they can't come fix it right away even on weekends. Usually they are pretty good and will at least get us another machine to use while they work on the broke one.
Reply:Never forget the day I threw a track on a TD-24 plowing snow to open up RR tracks in the middle of another snow storm.Right on top of tracks. Pickup over a mile walk away. 20 miles one way to shop for tools to drive out master pin and comealong back together. depot agent that was sitting up by pickup waiting for finish up so he could send all clear to freight train about 85 miles away and coming having a fit.

Reply:To relieve the pressure on the track tenshioner you only need to loosen the the valve or zerk 1/4 to 1/ 2 turn At least that is how we do it on cats .. don't do bobcats my selfIf you have no idea of how to fix it.. call the rental outfit its their problem ...should be no charge for the down timeFriend of mine got tired of the locals asking... Reply:I found these pictures, how would you like to pull all this wire rope off the drum down town? I seem to remember it was 8,000-feet of load line, 24-parts, and 8,000-feet of boom line, 24-parts.
