I just acquired a new to me torch. It is definitely a older heavy duty torch. I was trying to find some info on it and came up empty on google. It is a Smith welding Co. and the body is stamped "Model A" . Will post up some pics in a few.
Reply:While taking pictures I found the numbers I needed. It is a Smith SC220 90deg..Pics: Attached Images
Reply:That's a well-built and probably perfectly functional torch.Myself, I'm not particularly fond of plated torches because of the razor sharp peeling chrome that is often found on them. Looks like this one has some nasty sharps on the gas knobs. Dress off the sharps and put it to work.Good LuckLast edited by denrep; 05-19-2011 at 07:11 AM.
Reply:If that takes the old screw in tips, your screwed.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:Antique shops, junk shops and garage sales will supply you with all the tips and accessories you will ever need for that torch. We have a guy around here that had several large boxes of the old style tips, many of them new in the boxes, bought from old timers who took them home from the iron mines when they were young and no one cared.
