I have found a welding rig, w/a 60s model 300 lincoln gasser welder on it. does anyone know anything about these machines?, i am familiar with the 200s and 250s, but am not with the three hundreds. is this also a durable machine to take to thew pipeline?james
Reply:I would get a hold of Bill's welder repair in okc.. www.billswelderrepair.comalso there is a guy named shorthood 2006 on here. his name is darren he is very knowledgeable about this stuff too.
Reply:It may be an SAE-300. If you can get a code number, you could find out for sure.If it is an SAE-300, it should be a very good welder due to the dual continuous control. I would also expect you would have some trouble if you needed parts. These machines were made in far fewer numbers than the SA-200, so I would not expect parts to be as easily available today. I would also bet that fuel economy would be pretty bad.Cheers,Bob
Reply:some of the parts are interchangeable with the 200 , I have 2 of these machines 1 red face and 1 black , the engine blew on the older one so I put a 250 ford 6 on it and works great ,when the day comes to replace the other its getting a perkins 4-236. |
