Like the title says.......Portable BandSaw Stand...Why Didn't I Make One Sooner, too? After scoring, over here...http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/s...&postcount=633And Being Reminded/ Inspired over here.....http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/s...d.php?t=240721I finally started and completed this project.  Everything except for the paint. And like KMinAF (http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/member.php?u=76301) said "Why didn't I make this sooner?"I feel very similar..... Oh Well.....here it is....07 Fowler 200D65 RedFace04 Miller TB 302, 22hpMiller 12RCMiller HF 251-1Lincoln SP135HyperTherm PM 380and a few others... Reply:I started picking through the scraps and Pondering how 3 brain Cells, and a pile of rusty steel was gonna work out.  I started on the body that'll hold the saw.  http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/...d/IMAG3725.jpgI wanted it to not have any "Special Parts" or "Keys" or "Pins" to secure it.  So, I used the "Wedge" Theory.  It fits tight and doesn't wobble at all!!! http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/...d/IMAG3726.jpgI also didn't want to be F*ckin' around and replacing screws or finding removed tables or other parts.  Don't get me wrong,....The Swag Stuff is nice and quality, and American made, but there is too much of a process to get the saw back to "Portable" mode.07 Fowler 200D65 RedFace04 Miller TB 302, 22hpMiller 12RCMiller HF 251-1Lincoln SP135HyperTherm PM 380and a few others... Reply:Here is my ScrapYard Anvil....Getting the upper handle bracket beat on it.  Notice my scrap paper Template?http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/...d/IMAG3723.jpgI also used the saw to cut most of the parts.http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/...d/IMAG3721.jpg07 Fowler 200D65 RedFace04 Miller TB 302, 22hpMiller 12RCMiller HF 251-1Lincoln SP135HyperTherm PM 380and a few others... Reply:Then I started on the Base Plate.  Once again, We (3 BrainCells & 2 hands) did some scrap pickin'.The plate is close to .133", I haven't measured it, though.  I selected it based on the weight and rough size.http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/...d/IMAG3729.jpgI notched out the corners, and scribed close to 50% to make the "fold" easier.http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/...d/IMAG3733.jpg07 Fowler 200D65 RedFace04 Miller TB 302, 22hpMiller 12RCMiller HF 251-1Lincoln SP135HyperTherm PM 380and a few others... Reply:Then the Lovin" began.....A 2# SingleJack, turned into a 4# SingleJack, then into an altered 8#.  The 8# was born as a double or a "Bi", but a saw and some Friction Tape fixed that.http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/...d/IMAG3737.jpghttp://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/...d/IMAG3736.jpg07 Fowler 200D65 RedFace04 Miller TB 302, 22hpMiller 12RCMiller HF 251-1Lincoln SP135HyperTherm PM 380and a few others... Reply:Here it is, without the paint...http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/...d/IMAG3743.jpgThe side folds were also ground to achieve an Arch. That way the weight was focused on the "Feet."07 Fowler 200D65 RedFace04 Miller TB 302, 22hpMiller 12RCMiller HF 251-1Lincoln SP135HyperTherm PM 380and a few others... Reply:I use mine a couple times a week. It's a Harboring Fright pizzashiit  but I have to have the variable speed for stainless and tool steels. They're definitely a must.Last edited by Burpee; 03-26-2014 at 05:56 AM.Bubble gumTooth pixDuct tapeBlack glueGBMF hammerScrew gun --bad battery (see above)

Reply:That makes life easier for sure. Now make a table for it. Here's what I did .Attachment 669711Attachment 669721 I made up a switched outlet for saw. The screws for the saw guide actually hold the saw. I bought it cheap because the housing covering the blade was broke. I added some sheet to cover it.

Reply:Here a few more updates.....I picked up the HoBo Freight Foot Pedal, On/Off Switch.  One Click on,...One Click off.I went to HD to find some paint.  Dewalt Yellow is tough to find in a can, so I tried a few other colors and headed over to the Dewalt section to compare.http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/...d/IMAG3756.jpgDewalt Yellow is even different on two different tools.  The ChopSaw and the AirCompressor were two different shades.http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/...d/IMAG3757.jpg07 Fowler 200D65 RedFace04 Miller TB 302, 22hpMiller 12RCMiller HF 251-1Lincoln SP135HyperTherm PM 380and a few others... Reply:This is my first, failed attempt,..... at controlling the chips.....The aluminum chips fell into the Wheel/Band.  The chips stayed on the rubber tire.....Eventually, my "FeedRate" exceeded "traction" and the band slipped. This old toothbrush was an attempt to redirect the chips and wipe the rubber wheel......It doesn't work very well, yet.......http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/...d/IMAG3794.jpghttp://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/...d/IMAG3796.jpg..07 Fowler 200D65 RedFace04 Miller TB 302, 22hpMiller 12RCMiller HF 251-1Lincoln SP135HyperTherm PM 380and a few others...
