I need 500'-1000' feet of chain with an exact link length because they go through 12 anchor chain wheel winches. TCI made a G7 short link 5/16" chain with an inside link length of 92". Has to be G40 or better, hot dipped preferred. The exact size is European DIN 766 8x24mm, replacing chains in Jet L90 chain winches but 80'. Sailboats use it with their winches. I can't find it any where in U.S. Except for BBB or G30 which isn't strong enough. The anchors I am lifting are 2000 lbs (in water weight) but all the chain is under water so it doesn't have to be G80 or 100 lift rated. There is plenty that is close (1.00") but that's to big. Any supplier with drums of the TCI G7 short link, I'll buy it as well. Otherwise I'll have to redesign all the chain winches.
Reply:So std 5/16 G7 with an inside opening length of .92" should work if it's available. I've been googling all day.
Reply:You might want to try Ebay Great Britain's site. Or one of the other European Ebay sites.I did a quick search on Ebay Great Britain...and found this. Interesting thing is that the seller is US based....Maybe give them a call and ask someone.http://www.ebay.com/itm/STAINLESS-ST...9cfbc1&vxp=mtrFWIW...Yea...this was stainless chain. But maybe they have what you need in galvanized.
Reply:Some of theirs will work. Stainless might be worth it as many times they are replaced from rust alone.
Reply:I would not use "regular" (304/316) stainless in marine (salt) environment.Chlorides (as in, salt) are very aggressive on stainless.hot dip galva is your best choice, this is just my 2 cents...
Reply:I would rather have hot dip which makes it harder because I need grd 40,43,70,80 or 100 (40,43 preferred) also it's a fresh water environment. |
