Can anyone tell me anything about this machine?like is it a good machine?is it dependable?can you hook up a wire feeder? is $1250.00 too much?I looked on lincolns site and couldn't find it.
Reply:I don't think you have the right model there. Maybe some pics would help, data plate, etc. I've never heard of such a thing, and as far as I have been able to determine, if lincoln built it it's on their website. The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. Reply:I have that model.  It has been replaced by the Ranger 8 and then the ranger 10,000.  Its a good machine, I bought mine new around 1987.  Mine has a CV tap for a wire feed.  I have burned up LOTS of wire on that machine.  Its a good one. For price, I paid $2300 new.  Here is the owners manual if its an Onan engine.  Electronic ignition and an oil pump.  The gas tank is probably full of rust like mine.http://www.mylincolnelectric.com/Cat...t.aspx?p=32306DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Thanks David i might go look at it tomorrow just to see the hrs and such

Reply:Well I bought it.It didn't come with cables so I took a set with so I could make sure it welded and took a grinder to make sure the recepts worked.as far as I can tell works good. The guy said it only 200-300 hrs on it.It does have the cv tap and a cc one on the other side.Thank you all for all the advice and when I can I will borrow my womans digital camara and take some pics of it and some welds I do and stuff I build. Thanks again.DDog
Reply:Have a blast.  I hope you get as much out of it as I have mine.DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:IF it is like the Weldanpower I had , it was a one cylinder Briggs motor. Ran fine&welded good. I didn't keep it too long, because it was SO darned noisy. It needed a car muffler , like i saw a lot of. and mine had problems of the gas tank rusting up , so i built an oversized Stainless steel gas tank for it , put a fuel filter under the tank, & last, A stainless steel battery box that used a larger (car) battery. Also replaced the battery cables with oversized  ones (about 2 gauge ) over kill, i guess , but it made me feel better. Then sold it shortly afterwards. Too bad i sold it, since I retired , i don't need my trusty sa-250 anymore.[SIZE="5"Yardbird"
Reply:Ditto on the fuel tank and the noise.  It's not just any noise - To me, it's kind of an irritating  anxiety inducing noise. Funny, that same sound seems sweet when you're sticking two pieces of metal together in the field!I've had one on light duty for a long time, used mostly as a standby generator. Very trouble free. In about twenty years, it has required very little; a remote portable fuel tank, large muffler, large battery, a few minor repairs, that's it. I think you'll like the nice welding characteristics. Best Luck

Reply:An sp-200 for 3 bills is dirt cheap, if it welds good.[SIZE="5"Yardbird"

Reply:I have the LN-25 with the contacts and gas solenoid and and really like it. Mine too is 20+ years old. Had to replace a board in it ($$$$) but still less than most used ones go for. I run it off of an xmt304 and GX271 (Ranger 305). They are built to work. The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.
Reply:Thanks for all the advise and info.I hope that I haven't been coming off kinda green ,but I never really looked at the machines I ever ran to see what the model and such was I just picked it up and ran the snot out of it.and like I said thanks for the input.Denny DogIf it's too . get an office jobLincoln wp225g7 Lincoln 250 idealarcFrankenstein O/A set-up Weld-tech  tig set-upLincoln sp 175 plus profax  arc gouger
