Has anyone here tried to make up some kind of foot operated gas valve to provide an alternative to the typical hand operated gas vavle???

Reply:Don't know why you would do a pedal operated valve, but I do find torches with out a valve are much more comfortable to use; for myself anyway.Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk

Reply:I dunno, im sure its possible. I personally like my torch valve. makes a handy place to rest a thumb! plus, as I alternate pressure, it makes that cool WOOSH, whoosh, WHOOSH, whoosh, WHOOSH sound.for the places I have to go, I could not use a pedal. but for fun, im trying to think of a vertical stroke valve besides a gate or a globebosses stuff:trailblazer 325maxstar 200my stuff:sa 200fronius transpocket 180100 amp Lincoln w/f97 f350 DITKevin
Reply:I have a micro switch on my scratch start tig set-up. I converted an old Sears ac stick machine to a water cooled dc tig welder . I run a gas solenoid valve that has a 110v coil and use the switch to control power to the valve to start gas flow. I have been thinking of a foot switch instead of the switch on the torch.
