How much should I expect to pay for one that is working? Have they been out of production for a long time? Reply:Max, Thanks for the reply. The one I am looking at only has a 9HP Briggs. It is rated at 3,000 watts and DC welding from 50 to 125 Amps. I know it is a tad on the small side but it is light enough to be portable by one person and I would not need more than 3,000 watts unless our house went down for a long time which is very unlikely where we live. I normally only need to power a jobsite tool.The seller is asking $600 (they lowered it from $700). Reply:Ooooh... Now I know your machine in question... Mine has 6k watt, 210amp DC, 225amp AC. I was helping someone else earlier with a "G" series unit which happened to be a newer version of mine- hence the confusion.Ive recently seen a weld-and-power but it was AC only. Ive also seen the Power Arcs, 3000 and 5000. Reply:Mines easy 550lbs. Glad my neighbor has a Kubota to yank it off my truck when needed....It has a cart, whelbarrow style, which is fine for me. Reply:Well I got it! It is in great shape, 325 hours. Starts easy, welds great. The seller is a retired guy who used to seal abandoned mine shafts and caves for the US Forest service. It has a full roll cage and a custom base with big wheels. It would get flown in by helicopter and set down at the job sites. I also got an ammo box full of parts like new air cleaner elements, spark plugs, fuel additive, wrenches etc. He also gave me a set of 25' extension leads. Very nice guy and didn't really want to sell it but has no more use for it.Now my biggest issue is loading/unloading it on my work van. It weighs 250 lbs with the roll cage and wheels. I am considering Harbor Freight ramps or a Harbor Freight truck crane adapted to fit my receiver hitch.
