Anyone know anything about these old machines? Good, bad, etc., etc., I have a chance to buy one that runs pretty good but needs some work to make it usable. Here's the link to the manual if anyone wants to see exactly what I'm talking about. http://www.mylincolnelectric.com/Cat...t.aspx?p=26614Last edited by Greyhorse; 02-20-2008 at 07:57 PM.HH 187Miller Bluestar1EAHP AlphaTig 200X
Reply:If the price is right... In my experience old lincoln's generally last a long time. The problem can be find parts when they do need repairs. If I understood the manual in that link correctly, this welder is over 40 years old. What kind of repairs are needed to get it running right? The Welder Shop has great deals and reviews on Hobart, Miller and Lincoln Welders.
Reply:The Wisconson can be a little hard to get parts for, but not impossible. Once you get it running right it will probably run forever. It is also a true DC welder with a DC generator, that alone would make me want to save it.Joewww.CummingsHauling.com |
