hello i am a student at my local state college, and we are learning tig welding and we are using the miller dynasty 210 DX with the cool mate and we are using a wp-20 torch kits and the water line keeps expanding like a balloon, then just popping spraying water everywhere, there are 16 students in the class and i personally have busted for and me and the teacher checked for any blockage in the water lines could it be cheap material or something else any thing will help sincerely a really frustrated student
Reply:The only thing that makes that happen is either blockage or the solenoid to turn the pump on is not working correctly...What happens is the water that is in the hose superheats itself turning into steam and then POOF!I use street water and parked my seat leg on the torch hose one day and..........I am pretty sure you can't run the water in reverse so something is amiss...Undo the return line to the tank and see if water flows when you hit the pedal...Do NOT attempt to weld under test mode.......zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:we checked all the lines so there is no blockage but is it possible the solenoid is not correctly working on 6 different pumps and the water is never hot when it comes out or do you see steam
Reply:It sounds like the pressure relief valve in the pump may be stuck. But you need to verify water flow.
Reply:The water should flow any time the cooler is running. Typically with a cooler there is no water solenoid.
Reply:Right. My PT275 pumps water as soon as you turn it on.I open the fill cap and see if coolant is flowing from the return line before I strike an arc. Power cables are not cheap. If you have coolant flowing to the return and into the tank, all should be good.Tell us how you checked for blockages. That may point to a flaw. Maybe.
