Just wanted to say thanks to this site, and Joethemechanic, for all your help. I got the SA200 running last night. With about 8hrs total invested, I'm thrilled, it throttles up great, and idles smooth, and to know ones surprise, it welds like no other welder I've ever used. I just grabbed a stick that had been sitting in the holder on the trailer (for 21 years), and it worked great. I was doing it for my dad, so I called him up to let him hear it run, and he was thrilled. So again, thanks!
Reply:Glad to hear the Lincoln is again doing what they all do do well. I hope that stick wasn't 7018 or you will catch heck, LOL. In my second welding career I bought a Ranger 250. It welds just like the SA 200. It just doesn't burn as much gas and you don't have to worry about antifreeze but the arc characteristics are exactly like the 200. Doesn't take as big a truck to haul it either. |
