I am planning to use it for.I will need to weld on truck frames and body panels yet I read about out growing your welder and wanting to go bigger in the future.  Do any of you professionals have any advice on what model I should look into?I have 220 voltage in my garage yet I do see some of these machine which allow you to adapt to 110 volts in if you have no access to 115 volts.  Does the 115 volts create penetration issues on thicker material (my friend brought over this 115 Lincoln.....no offense and it did not exactly live up to what specs said it could handle.  It said up to 1/4" and he was struggling with 1/8" material)?I was thinking of either buying a used Miller 180, or the Miller 210....from what I have read in various forums the 211 is not as good as the 210, not sure if there is any truth to this as I not a welder yet.Any advice would be greatly appreciated because reading all this info can leave you wondering.
Reply:110 volts...115 volts....120 volts.....all the same. Some machines just tend to use any of  the above to  designate the standard  120 volt service of most homes. On your electric utility service....there are 2 legs of 120 volts entering the building. For a 240 volt line...then the hot of each 120 leg gets used. 120 + 120 = 240 volts

Reply:Why are you welding on truck frames?  Most vehicle frames are high strength alloys and welding on them is prohibited by allManufacturer recommendations.Tiger Sales:  AHP Distributor    www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P,  Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma.  For Sale:  Cobra Mig 250 w/ Push-pull gun.  Lincoln Wirematic 250
Reply:What kind of trucks are you talking about welding on? Trucks covers a pretty broad spectrum.
Reply:The 211 is a sweet machine. You give up some duty cycle to the bigger shop only machines but I've used one just about every day for the last year in a fab shop. I've never had it shut down on me. The portability is nice as well as the ability to run on 120. If you're plugged directly into an outlet or have an adequately sized extension cord you can do up to 3/16".

Reply:Thank you for the tip on the closeout, I will be looking into this as I saw a used one on Ebay for close to $900 used.
