Thinking of getting a TIG/Stick machine.  Would like the option for AC or DC.  Can anybody comment on this model or one that can match it for price/value?
Reply:That hobart is tig only. Reply:I didn't notice that it's TIG only.  There are so many that are TIG/Stick I didn't look that close.  Looking to do from light gauge to 1/4 inch steel, stainless and aluminum.

Reply:Look into thermal arc
Reply:If you like inverters, the Thermal Arc 186 would be a great fit.  If you like transformers, take a look at the Lincoln Squarewave 175.   Both of these machines should be in and around the price range, and have tig/stick modes with dinse connectors for the leads.
Reply:its gonna take alot more than 165amps to do 1/4 aluminum... have you tig welded alum before?Millermatic 211Miller Syncrowave 350lx with cooler and tigrunner Thermal Dynamics cutmaster 811955 National Cylinder Gas O/A setup with original patina
