Power Mig 180C pricing?

I've never welded before, but I'd like to build some rockrails for my Jeep and also start fabricate things for my tractor so I need a welder.I was originally looking at the Lincoln 3200HD at Home Depot, but a friend of mine told me I need to go 220V.  And being he works at a machine site, I figure I need 220.  I also asked on a tractor forum, I'm on, and most everyone there said the same thing.So I'm looking for a welder and I found a new Lincoln Power Mig 180C for $400.  The guy got it as a gift and can't use it because he has no 220.  Can anyone tell me if this is a good deal?  Also is there anything I can't weld with a 220V Mig that I can do with a 120V MIG welder?  This I'm asking because I need to fabricate some sheet metal fenders and such on the Jeep too and I've been told if a welder is to powerful, it'll just burn through.Thanks!!

Reply:That welder will dial down just as low as a 120V model.  It's an excellent machine and that sounds like a great deal.  Has it even been used?On second thought.  That's a horrible deal.  What's the guy's phone number so I can tell him off?

Reply:The POWER MIG 180 is Lincolns new Model.  The trusty old WeldPak Series is being replaced by these POWERMIGs.  I think that the 180 is $700-$800 so it sure looks like a great deal.  From the specs they are better in everyway over a WeldPak, And those are great for consumer usage. Optional Spool Gun, higer amperage & includes the gas conversion kit.
