Hey y'all...So, this is my scrap pil-area:As you can see, its ugly, inefficient, dirty, unprofessional and downright dangerous. So, I'm asking you all how you generally store your scraps of steel. To further complicate things, I got into machining pretty hard about 9 months ago, and now have shorter scraps (~2"-6") everywhere as well, which I also wish to organize. Any advice is greatly appreciated, I'm sure someone out there has come up with an ingenious system for this sort of thing. Thanks in advance! Reply:Anything that will fit in a 5gal bucket, goes on a 5gal bucket sorted by material type, ss, al, etc. the sheet and larger flat material looks like it will store nicely in that wood crate. Or find a way to keep it strapped to the wall. My work area is a disaster as well. I clean in baby steps and make messes with much larger steps.  Good luck.Thermal arc 211iCk flex-loc 150 & 130Clamps, saws & grindersHarbor freight 80 amp inverter

It's made with 1 5/8 unistrut left overs. The spacing was set to match the height of plastic Coke cases from buddy's store. Works great for all the small stuff. A drywall cart would would good too if you find a deal on one.

Reply:Everything 6" or less goes in the bucket by the bandsaw. Everything bigger than 6" but smaller than 3' goes in a trash can. Everything bigger than 3' goes back on the rack.My "collection":Homemade Stick WelderVictor O/A TorchAC 225Ideal Arc 250HF 90 Amp Flux CoreHF Mig 170Solar 2020 Plasma CutterPower i-Mig 140EHarris O/A torchHF Dual Mig 131140STAlpha Tig 200x
