So we got a new 70 watt laser in the shop and it's becoming clear it's more of an art than science.Regardless here is the obligatory logo for the soon to be built rig torch cooler. Attached ImagesRegards,RobGreat Basin WeldingInstagramBlue weldersRed weldersMy luscious Table DIY TIG Torch cooler
Reply:Nice machine, have any pics of the entire thing? We had an Epilog laser engraver in H.S. and that thing was awesome the handful of times we used it.TOO MANY TOOLS & NO MORE SPACE
Reply:Cool. What thickness can it cut for both MS and SS? Is it a CO2 laser?
Reply:I'll get some pics. I actually had to do some work today. It's a Co 2 laser but with only 71 ways it can't cut steel. That's OK as we have that service close by and reasonably priced. It will cut up to half inch plastics. A lot of my FAB work is high tech and this is cheaper than a mill. Thanks for the complement on the weldapelli. Reply:Thats a cool Kokopelliweldor.C02 lasers in the 10.6u wavelength are long wave and standard glass or machinist safety glass will absorb and protect eyes from the rays. The CO2 wave will not transmit to a retina but can cook a lense on an eyeball if that makes sense. |
