production cutting round stock for pins

a simple chop saw set-up is lots quicker than the horizontal band saw when cutting many pieces of angle or round stock. some home made material guides and a simple length gauge clamped to the chop saw assures accurate production cutting. it's noisy so i had my ipod going and a face shield for eye protection. Reply:I've done similar setups before. Only thing you have to watch for is the cut piece if it's short as yours is, doesn't bind up the wheel when it cuts off. I've ruined more than one doing the same thing.....Mike

Reply:Depending on quantity check with your local supplier cutting house... Often then can do it much cheaper than you can. They run giant cnc band saws and make silly quick work of it.
