Hey all my ? Is do you know of any way to make a spray arc weld out of position with fabricator 252i. I was thinking like using the stitch mode and set off time to as low as it can go and use the burn back up high so arc stays kind of on WHAT DO Y'ALL THINK. OR is there a separate small pulse controller I can add to this unit. toss any ideas outI WILL TRY ANYTHING
Reply:rumor has it there are some wire products that will spray out of position; but like Bigfoot, I haven't seen it so I'm skeptical that it exists. I've run spray at a slight downhill angle before without a problem. Just have to move faster and stay at the front edge of the puddle. I suspect that alot depends on what you mean by out of position(vertical down, overhead, vertical up, etc), the gas you're using(higher CO2(15% max) in the mix makes the puddle slightly more viscous), the type of joint(An inside corner fillet vs a flat bead on plate), the more surface area for the puddle to cling to, the betterand the thickness of the base metal, thicker material is a better heat sink, to help freeze the puddle in placeBenson's Mobile Welding - Dayton, OH metro area - AWS Certified Welding Inspector
Reply:Just a reminder that spray transfer requires gravity to work well. You're much better off learning short-circuit for the out of position work.Be wary of The Numbers: Figures don't lie,. but liars can figure.Welders:2008 Lincoln 140 GMAW&FCAW2012 HF 165 'toy' GTAW&SMAW1970's Cobbled together O/A |
