Well I decided to take on a very fun welding project... My workshop... I'm building it from 2"x11ga sq tube 2"x3"x11ga rec tube and 2"x1/8" angle... Here's a few shots of how it looks at the moment..Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Reply:That is looking awesome!
Reply:Thanks, I can't wait I'll it's finished but I still have a long ways to go. What you can't see is instead of rebar I have angle and sq tube welder to the bottoms of the structural members completely trying everything together then 2 more ran through the middle with remesh tied to them them buried 1" off the bottom of the 8" deep footings there's over 100lf of angle and 20lf of tubing ting it altogether and it's all 100% weldedSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Reply:Looks like you got some toys. Nice car in pic 2.

Reply:looking good chevyracer. are you going to cap off the tube ends? i work with lots of tubing and capping keeps out creepy crawlers and moisture that hastens corrosion.i.u.o.e. # 15queens, ny and sunny fla
Reply:Yep going to cap the ends of all the tubes (already fought the red flying creepy crawlers last yr) and also going to install some flatbar across the header tube of the shop to act as a door stop and weather seal Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Reply:Yea I agree with you there and already have that in the works I have vertical angle going between all the tubing verticals then once I get all the bracing and fillers put in I'm building a 1"sq tube bar door to go over my 32" steel entry door the coming back and pop riveting the metal siding in place using. 3/16" dia 5/8" head rivets and 1/8" rivets every 3-4" on all the vertical seams I hate thieves and already had an idiot attempt to break I to the wood building on the back side but they were unable to get in due to how I built it but after we caught him up aside the head with my boys alum tee ball bat he hasn't been backSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Reply:Well made a lot more progress thanks to the idiots pissing me off trying to steal gas from my vehicles and plundering around in my under construction shop last week......Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Reply:Looking good man! I hate being bi-polar it's awsomeMy Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys
Reply:Yea it's deffinatly getting there I'm forged to take a break from construction on it at least till next week when I get the cash to buy the remaining metal roofing to finish walling it in but then again I can start building the 1" tube are door forth rented door while I'm forced to waitOverkill is underrated.....
Reply:Well got a little more done last night and now I think I don't have any easy way for anyone to walk off with anything from my shop cause I built and installed the double door padlock guard and installed a double keyed deadbolt setup on the main entry door loctited the screws with 271 and took a drill and removed most of the screwdriver gripping surfacesOverkill is underrated.....
Reply:Keeping the thieves out is a GOOD thing! I lol'd when you said that one got hit in the head w/aluminum bat!
Reply:That's a progress! Better and secured.Old tools, trajan band saw, grizzly, delta, lincoln |
