My precession tig 275 decided to go **** up last night. I do have current for the stick, and there is current to the torch while in stick mode. The gas does flow when I switch from stick to tig, and when I turn the machine on. I cannot scratch start, or use the foot amptroll to start the arc. The gas does not flow when I press the pedal. It is not working an any current or setting DC+, DC-, or AC.It was working yesterday before it was moved; I moved it to a friend’s house less than 2 hours after using it at my place. It was not dropped or bumped, and the distance was only about 20 miles. The troubleshoot in the book is saying either faulty control board or protection board. Is there anything I could try / look at before I take it in to see if it is another problem.Kyle

Reply:I checked the foot pedal and used 2 different ones. No luck. But shouldn’t I also be able to scratch start with out the foot pedal?
Reply:You could have a process control switch in the wrong position which is most likely, such as being in Tig without a remote and in remote mode, or a molex connector has come off the control board during transit. Never the less, not likely to be anything serious!!
Reply:I tired the switch a few times:Remote – w footRemote – scratchLocal – scratchLocal – w footI pulled off the top cover to look at the main board and everything looked to be connected.Pull off the lower cover that the remote receptacle is attached too and take a look then? If it’s tight and nothing is loose where to go form there?Kyle
Reply:I’ve been at work for 10 hours now, and I cant get to my machine until LATE tonight. I also don’t have any internet connection where it is at the moment. So I’m just trying to cover all bases in one go.
Reply:Jumper out E & D on the 6 pin connector in tig mode, gas supplys turned on, that will tell me lots
Reply:I'll try all of that tonight and let you know, thanks.
Reply:E and D on the amptroll connection?if yes, then i assume you want the switch set to remote - tig
Reply:Not nessessarily, remote is looking for the remote potentiometer,  I'm looking for contactor and gas
Reply:…So you want me jumper pins on the control board?OrWhere the foot amptroll is on the machine? And do you want the tig mode to be set to remote? Or local? From what I gather were checking to see if the onboard connection is faulty, or if both of my amprtoll’s are dead.
Reply:jumped the pins, got gas and current. looks like 2 dead amptrolls. thanks for the helpKylepshow hard is it to take apart and try to fix a foot pedal?
