I have finally got my cybertig up and running and for some reason every so often I will get a unstable arc to the point I cannot even get a puddle going. Mind you the machine has been sitting for approximately 5years so that may have something to do with it but I'm no expert. It has the basic 100 controller, liquid cooled torch running tap water as coolant (previous owner ran tap water for over 30 years with no pproblems) argon at 20 cfh with a #6 cup and using 3\32 lanthanated tungsten. On both AC and DC I can lay a decent bead if everything cooperates but that is about a 50\50 shot. Mind you I have never tiged but I seem to have better luck with aluminum than steel/stainless. I am just unsure if its the user or the machine.
