The job is cutting 1-3/4 x 11ga. square tube.
Reply:What make and model cold saw do you have. Blade diameter, etc... would probably also be helpful. Honestly, any well functioning cold saw isn't going to have any problem at all going through hundreds if not thousands of those tubes with the standard factory blade. Considering that a good cold saw costs up in the thousands of $$$ that's not too surprising. Why do you think you'd need a different blade?--Wintermute"No man's knowledge here can go beyond his experience." - John Lockewww.improvised-engineering.comManufacturer Agnostic:Blood----------Sweat---------Tears----|------------------|----------------|----Lincoln Red, Miller Blue, Esab Yellow
Reply:Since cold saw blades call out the number of teeth vs. teeth per inch like band saw blades the current blade diameter is needed.I can run a 12-14.5" on mine. With the material being that thin then a finer tooth blade is needed so the teeth will not catch in the edge of the material.Tim Beeker.
Reply:it's determined by how many teeth you'll have in the material at the same time, ideally 2-3 so a pretty fine tooth. on my 9" I'd probably use a 200 but a bigger blade would be diffferenthere's a good place to get good blades : http://www.vansantent.com/cold_saw_blades.htmand a chart they have to help you select the best blade for your use : http://www.vansantent.com/cold_saw_chart.htmmiller 330a bp TIGmiller dynasty 200DX TIGmillermatic 185 MIGthermal dynamics cutmaster 101 plasma cuttersnap-on YA5550 plasma cutterhypertherm powermax 30 plasma cutterbaileigh CS225 cold sawetc.... |
