craigslist danger?

Reply:Hose is probably dryrotted and I'd replace it. Regs may or may not be ok. I doubt they were loaded, but depending on the design, the seats may have been slowly indenting against the orifface for a long time. Diaphrams may or may not be shot depending on how well they were stored and how good they were to begin with. The torch itself with tips and cylinders are good, but the cyl will need hydros. No big deal but figure on an extra $40 or so minimum when you exchange the cylinders.I'm not familiar with the general info on that brand of torch as far as parts availability. OAdoctor here could tell you more on that and rebuild the regs if anyone could.Overall his price is too high in my opinion for what he's got. I can pick up a nice import kit with good parts from my LWS for $125 plus about $285 for the 2 cylinders IIRC. The whole package for $200 is probably worth the risks, figuring you have to replace the hose and the regs may be junk from age even if they were never used.  Much more than that and I'd just start looking for a new set..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Well, anything that was going to settle has settled by now Maybe its just my inner tightwad typing, but I think the hoses might be OK. I'd unroll them and flex them real good down the entire length, then leak test them before striking a flame.
