"Understanding Heat Distortion" is what I should have titled this article... We all struggle with distortion after welding, stresses pulling our work one way and another. In my mailbox this morning arrived an article from Lincoln Electric that discusses heat distortion and techniques to minimize it with a view to help understanding the nature of the beast. This article is not the be-all-end-all, but a good starting point to understanding this subject and along with your own experiences will expand your knowledge and improve results. Read, enjoy and benefit! Happy welding!! http://www.lincolnelectric.com/en-us...eld-distortionLast edited by bearston; 05-30-2014 at 09:47 AM.When a welder tells you to "stick it", what do they really mean?"In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act." - George Orwell |
