HiI just purchased a used Ranger 8 with a 20 hp Kolher eng and it has no battery in it and I was wondering if anyone could give me the size or # from a aftermarket supplier like interstate or TSC etc instead of having to go to the dealer and pay inflated price. Also where is the cheapest place to buy or order online 1/0 cable. Thanks in advance.

Reply:I have the same machine. Remember to start it up every 30 days or it will be hard to start. I still have not figured it all out, has something to do with a flap or shut off valve in the pump or carb system.

Reply:I always wished the battery was a normal car sized battery. When I was in Denver and it was -F outside, starting the Ranger 9 was always a challenge.Now in Arizona I don't usually have any problems. But yeah, it's a regular lawn tractor battery.
