Vinnie told me to get get busy with the scratch start TIG, so here is a little project I made. Welded up with 3/32 309 cause' that's what I had on hand. Took awhile because I had to keep stopping and regrind my tungsten after I fouled it up . Yeah, this project made me decide to order a gas lens kit. To many places I couldn't reach due to short stickout. Anyway, made out of 9ish used horseshoes, old washer for the hat, horseshoe nails for the ears and some small wires twisted together for the reigns. I brushed oil on it while still hot and then gave it a light wire brush so it has the same(ish) finish as my plan ahead sign. Oh, I was able to weld the reigns to the head! I love TIG, never could have done that with stick! Probably nothing for most of you guys, but I impressed myself. Never have been able to weld two such vastly different thicknesses together before. Reply:That, sir, is a piece of art. I like it, it'd look great on my desk! Nicely done
Reply:Very nicely done. IMO, welding experience has nothing to do with artistic talent; you have the talent, and the experience will come.
